I’ve decided to layout this review slightly differently to my other reviews. I hope you like it – If you aren’t keen on how this review is set out or written I would love to hear your feedback for future reviews.
Anyways – ONTO THE REVIEW!
PRODUCT NAME : Maybelline Dream Nude AirFoam Foundation
COLOUR PURCHASED: 010 Ivory
PLACE PURCHASED: Superdrug
PRICE: £7.99
Pictures of the product :
PACKAGING: The product comes in a air tight can which when the nozzle at the top of it is pressed, the product squirts out as a foam liquid. It is lovely and fluffy but you have to be careful when you press the nozzle because if you press it too hard , too much product will come out! (As I found out when testing it haha!). There is a plastic cap that goes over the top of the lid which will help protect it.
APPLICATION: To apply you simply squirt the foundation onto the palm of your hand and you distribute over a clean face evenly. Be sure to blend all around the edges of your face as I found that if your skin tone doesn’t match the foundation exactly, then you will see the line from the foundation easily. You can use a foundation brush to distribute the product on your face, whatever you prefer.
PICTURE OF THE FOAM :
ABSORBENCY: It absorbs into your face very well , however if you use too much of the product you might get a little bit of an orange tone to your face so use the product lightly.
THE SMELL: It doesn’t really have a smell to it. Some foundations smell very chemically but I found this smelt of nothing to be honest.
THE LOOK/FEEL ONCE APPLIED: The foundation has a lovely finish to it. It leaves your skin looking natural and fresh. It does a good job at covering blemishes too however I actually found that it felt a little heavy on my skin even though Maybelline claims that it is a lightweight foundation. This could just be me , as I tend not to wear foundation much.
LASTING WEAR: I applied this at around 10:30AM and it hadn’t smeared or smudged when I returned home from shopping at around 4:00PM so I can safely say this lasts from 5 hours without budging.
WHERE YOU CAN PURCHASE: You can buy this in Boots, Superdrug or online. Superdrug are currently selling it online for £6.99 and it is usually £8.99.
OVERALL: This is a lovely foundation that gives you a natural look – however If you are fair skinned like myself , this might not be your kind of thing. My skin tone is Porcelain and the lightest the foundation goes is Ivory which is slightly darker than my skin tone which sucks a little. It claims to be light weight however for me it felt like I had a little too much on my face. I personally wouldn’t recommend it as I think there are much better foundations that Maybelline do such as there Dream Mousse foundation.
