Barry M Dazzle Dust Swatch Review

I have been a big fan of Barry M’s dazzle dusts for a few years now. I was given my first dazzle dust a couple of years a go by a friend who didn’t want it. It’s the purpley coloured one in the pictures below.

My first thoughts were that because it was a dust that it would be really messy and wouldn’t do a lot. I was half right. They are very messy however make your eyes POP!

The variety of colours Barry M offers is amazing , there is pretty much every colour you can think of!

You can purchase these from Superdrug or Boots and the Barry M website. They retail around £4.99 each

From left to right : Pink Shimmer, Emerald Green, Bright Blue , Unknown (its a couple of years old x)

SWATCHES

without primer

with primer

I was amazed that once these dusts had a primer underneath them, they were amazing! Without primer , the pigmentation is ok however with primer, as you can see they are gorgeous!

They last about 6 hours without primer and 12 hours with primer, they really stick to the primer well!

I recommend these highly as they are cruelty free, affordable, good quality and there’s a colour for everyone!

Hope you like this review!

MUA Immaculate Collection Palette and Primer

Last week MUA had a pretty cool promotion where you could get a free Immaculate collection palette with no minimum spend! I took advantage of this and got myself a primer too.

SWATCHES

I love the range of colours that is in this palette. You get a variety of matte colours and shimmery colours. You have neutral colours and bright colours, dark colours and light colours…there’s something for everyone!

The palette usually costs £8

The pigment in some of the eyeshadows are brilliant however like most palettes you always get at least one or two that aren’t quite as pigmented.

They look even better with the primer and last even longer too!

PRIMER SWATCHES

On the left there is no primer used and on the right the primer is used. You can see that the primer brings the colours out so much better!

The primer is only £3 !

I would definitely recommend both of these products as the quality is amazing and the price is too!

Superdrug Haul April 2012

A week ago I made an order on the Superdrug website. I’ve been meaning to do an order for a while now and so decided to get a few bits and bobs to review for you guys!

I purchased the following :

MUA Professional Eye Palette in POPTASTIC – £4.00

NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow in QUEENS – £2.99

NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow in BROADWAY – £2.99

Sleek Makeup Eyeliner Liquid Dip it Black – £3.79

Miss Sporty XX Mascara in Black – £2.99

Miss Sporty Light Energy Foundation in Light – £3.49

2true Plumptuous Lipgloss in NO 16 , PLUM – £1.99

MUA Lipstick in Shade 14- £1.00

MUA Lipstick in Shade 2 – £1.00

MUA Blush in Shade 1 – £1.00

Below are some pictures, swatches and a little description

MUA Professional Eye Palette in POPTASTIC – £4.00

Personally I thought that these swatched rather well. What you get is a small applicator brush and 12 eyeshadows. For £4.00 I think that’s actually quite good.

I liked that there was a variety of both matte and shimmery eye shadows. I chose this palette because I loved the bright colours in it and I thought that it would be perfect for spring!

MUA Blush in Shade 1 – £1.00

I really liked this blush. It’s the perfect colour for your cheeks if you want to keep your look on the natural side. It gives you a fresh look without giving you too much pinkness in your face.

For £1.00 I found this cheap but good quality.

MUA Lipstick in Shade 14- £1.00

MUA Lipstick in Shade 2 – £1.00

I have found my new favorite lipstick! I absolutely love shade 16 which is the nude colour. It is natural but makes your lips look lovely! I have never tried a nude lipstick colour before but this one is amazing! I love the plum colour too but I might only wear that for a party as it is a little too bright to wear casually. They are creamy and matte which are good quality!

Miss Sporty Light Energy Foundation in Light – £3.49

On the right of my arm this is without it being rubbed in and on the left you can see the colour difference where I have rubbed it in

I’m going to be completely honest…I hated this foundation. As I opened the lid up to squirt some out , I do what I always do with any foundation and thats shake the bottle to let the liquid slide to the cap of the bottle, it then squirted all over my black leggings and left a white stain! So that was my first irritated view on this foundation. The next irritation was that it was a little watery. All I can say is that a very small amount goes a long way. Finally as I was applying it onto my face I started to feel small lumps on my cheeks….It had completely caked and ended up making my face look like I had been peeling after being sun burnt! NOT GOOD. It did feel light  and maybe with a little bit of primer under neath it could have some potential. I wouldn’t recommend this though!

Miss Sporty XX Mascara in Black – £2.99

This is a lovely mascara. I’m not too sure if it is waterproof though so I might do a review later on and see if it is! The wand isn’t very big and considering it is called XX Mascara you would assume that it would make your lashes look XX big , this didn’t really , it just coated them. I would recommend it though if you like to just go for a natural look.

Sleek Makeup Eyeliner Liquid Dip it Black – £3.79

The formula of the liquid liner wasn’t too thick and it wasn’t too watery. It is a perfect consistency and I very much look forward to using it. I was a little disappointed with the size of the bottle though. The pictures of it were a little deceiving. I thought it was going to be quite big but the size of the actual bottle is no bigger than a 50p coin.

2true Plumptuous Lipgloss in NO 16 , PLUM – £1.99

I liked this lipgloss however I found it a little too sticky for my liking! The wand on the brush is great for precision. It leaves your lips looking shiny and a lovely plum colour.

NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow in QUEENS – £2.99

NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow in BROADWAY – £2.99

QUEENS

BROADWAY

I think these eyeshadows are going to become one of my favorites! I love that the purple palette is great for night and the brown palette is perfect for the day! They swatched really well and they both came with a sponge applicator too. I love that they have shown you how to use each eyeshadow by labeling them with crease, contour, highlight and all over lid. Great way for creating a smokey eye!

And there you go! My April Superdrug haul! I hope you liked it! If you have any questions about these items , please feel free to ask. These are ALL CRUELTY FREE !

Urban Decay Vintage Eyeshadows Review

I’ve had these Eyeshadows for a while now and I am still 50/50 on them. As much as I love Urban Decay I feel as though this product lets them down!

I bought these about 2 months ago from CheapSmells.com at £3.95 each. I was super excited as It was only going to be my second Urban Decay purchase. However when I recieved them I was more disappointed than I was pleased.

PACKAGING

The colours I purchased were JONES, GREEN GODDESS and FLIPSIDE. At first I thought these were going to be unique colours as in the pictures they looked so pretty and different but then I realized that I had the blue colour already in my Sustainable palette….

The packaging felt really cheaply made compared to my Palette. I know it is one of Urban Decay’s cheaper products but even still….you expect the quality to stick throughout their products! It felt like really thin plastic and the lids are really flimsy.

The colours are well pigmented which is a plus side. Below are swatches

These didn’t crease quickly which was good. The quality of the shadows themselves were good but the packaging was poorly made.

Don’t let the packaging put you off as the shadows are good. However they aren’t unique or anything different, so if you own any of Urban Decay’s palettes then you will probably already have these colours!

Overall I give this product a 6/10. Most of those points go to the shadows but the rest is due to them being cheaply made and how they aren’t that unique!

Any questions, please feel free to ask!
