MAC Face & Body Foundation REVIEW

Hey Everyone!

If you read my Birthday Wishlist post then you would know that this product has been on my list for quite some time. As some of you may know, last week was my birthday, so I decided to treat myself ! Thank you for all the lovely messages that you sent me and I can’t wait to do a birthday haul post! hehe!

I purchased the MAC Face&Body foundation from the MAC store in Westfields Shopping center – which might I say is bloody massive! I don’t think I have ever encountered a shopping center of that size ever! I’ve been to American shopping centers in Florida before but Westfields was enormous compared to the Florida malls! (which is odd considering American’s go XL on pretty much everything!) The shop was quite easy to navigate around but I was a little miffed that there were no prices on any of their products. I usually follow a rule that if it’s not priced I don’t buy! But thankfully I already had an idea of the price of the foundation beforehand so I knew what I was getting into! However as there were no prices on products I didn’t purchase anything else as I could have bought a ton of stuff but didn’t want to spend a fortune in there! ( which can be easily done!)

The price of the foundation was £26 and I purchased the colour N1. One of the ladies  in the store was lovely enough to help me find the right shade for my skin tone. I explained that I am quite pale and that most foundations I buy have an orange undertone to it. However she showed me a few colours and helped me pick the N1 shade.

The packaging is sleek and simple. The classic black MAC box protected the 120ml foundation bottle inside. The bottle has a screw cap so leakages are minimal. I wouldn’t say this is something that you could put in your handbag for on the go (unless you have a huge bag) but you can purchase the smaller bottle which may be more portable.

The formula is creamy and a medium thickness. It doesn’t have a chemically smell to it, I thought it smelt quite sweet which was nice! The overall coverage of the foundation I would say is medium – It didn’t quite cover all my blemishes however it gave me enough coverage to brighten up my face. I applied this in the morning (7am) and when I returned home (6pm) it was still very much the same as when I first applied that morning which was brilliant.

(please excuse my eyebrows -_-)

I would overall rate this foundation as 4/5 as it has a lovely lightweight feel to it and it lasts a long time however it doesn’t have a full coverage which I found disappointing considering the hype and price that is attached to it!

I would definitely recommend this to a friend as I think it is one of those products that you have to try and you will either love it or hate it.

Thanks for reading!

Hurricane Sandy

I don’t usually do posts like this as this is, after all a beauty and fashion blog , not a weather/news blog. However the recent event of Hurricane Sandy has lead me to write this post.

While I don’t live in the USA and will not be affected by this hurricane, in some way it affects me emotionally in which I am saddened by the lives that are lost or that will be lost. And I am worried for the people that are about to lose their homes and their lives. Seeing stories like this on the News reminds me of how lucky we Brits have it here in the UK. We worry over a few inches of snow, when just across the pond are people that are worrying if their houses will still be standing or if their friends and family will survive. It sickens me that we worry over the minor things when there’s people out there like the Americans that encounter super storms like Sandy.

To put the severity of this storm into aspect here is a picture which is from the BBC news website - below are satellite pictures showing the  size of the storm compared to the UK.

This is a Satellite picture of the hurricane over the USA

And this is what it would look/be like if it were to be over Europe

This storm is around 1000 miles long. To travel from London to Glasgow in Scotland it is only 343 miles. From Glasgow to Pairs it is 830 miles. So you can imagine the size of this storm. If it were to hit the UK, it would affect the WHOLE of the UK and many parts of Europe.

It will affect the East Coast of America and it is due to hit land in a day or so.

All I can say is that my thoughts are with all of the people that have been/are going to be affected by Hurricane Sandy. Please show your support to them too as the aftermath of this is going to be awful. We aren’t talking about a few houses knocked down and a few tree’s blown over – We are talking about more then 50 Million people being affected by this….the UK population is 60 Million so you can see that this isn’t just any old Hurricane.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post – Please share your support too by either posting your comments below, re posting this or posting your own thoughts too.

For live updates on the storm please visit the BBC website if you are a UK&Ireland Citizen or check out the FOX News Website for more details.

The Body Shops Body Mist, Mango Review

Hey Everyone!

A few weeks ago I walked into my local Body Shop store with a friend and we decided to try out all their Body Mists. And I mean ALL their body mists…By the time we were finished, not kidding, I smelt like a fruit basket! I fell in love with all of them but there was two that stood out the most and that was the Mango spray and the Grapefruit spray. I only purchased one but I am definitely going back for the grapefruit one at some point!
