Technic Nail Polish – Carnival

Hey Everyone!

Today’s post is a review on the Technic Nail Polish in the colour Carnival. Many have said that this is a Dupe of the OPI Rainbow Connection polish. As I haven’t used the OPI one I can’t compare , however I have seen quite a lot of pictures of the two together and they are very much alike.

Technic isn’t a well known beauty brand and so I had no idea of its existence until stumbling across it on eBay. I was looking for a rainbow polish and this one came up first on the listing.

This cost me £1.99 with free postage and I purchased it from eBay (link below)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221156649528

I really like the quality of this nail polish. Although it took 3 coats to get the desired coverage, the lasting wear is amazing! It hasn’t chipped, smudged or anything , I love it!

Below are pictures of the polish and different coats. I apologize about my teeny nails! I’m in the middle of growing them out. I’m a terrible nail biter! aha!

(1 coat)

(2 coats)

(3 coats)

Overall I am very impressed by this nail polish. It’s only £1.99 and I can’t fault it at all. It dries quickly, it doesn’t flake or smudge and It is perfect for Christmas!

I hope you enjoyed this post , leave me a comment or tweet letting me know your favorite nail polish!

Collection 2000 Lip Pout LipStain – Heartbreaker REVIEW

Hey Everyone!

So today’s post is a review on the Collection 2000 Lip Pout Lip Stain. I have already reviewed the colour PUCKER so make sure you check that out.

As you may already know i am absolutely in love with the Collection 2000 Lipstains. I love that they are both good quality and affordable.

I’ll try not to waffle on too much as I have already done an in depth review on the last post so if you would like to find out more then check out the PUCKER post =)

The colour I purchased is HeartBreaker. It is a pink matte colour which I thought was perfect to wear casually. The smell still isn’t the best of smells (food colouring) but again, it doesn’t phase me too much.

I don’t know if this was just a faulty lip stain but it’s already ran out…So either I’ve used it A LOT or bought a faulty one. An excuse to go buy another one! hehe!

The lasting wear was brilliant, no smudging or signs of fading throughout the day. PERFECT.

I really can’t fault these stains at all. If you are looking for a lip stain that is affordable, performs well and has a good choice of colours then go check out the Collection 2000 range!

Sorry this wasn’t more informative. As I had already written a review on the stains themselves i didn’t wan’t to waffle on, so if you want to know more go check out the other post =)

Nivea Creme Moisturizer Review

Hey Everyone!

Today’s post is a review on the Nivea Creme moisturizer. Here in the UK our climate is beginning to get a little too chilly for my liking! ( not that it’s ever a climate that is decent!) For the first time in ages I have had to use moisturizer on my hands due to cracking, redness and that horrible raw feeling too. My work place and college course mean that I have to use an intense disinfecting hand wash every 5 flippin minutes so my hands feel like they’ve been sun burnt. So the other day I had to make an emergency trip to boots to get something to fix my hands!

Nivea was the first brand that popped into my head as I know they are known for their amazing moisturizers. I’ve never really used their moisturizers before, I’d just heard that they were really good. So I decided it was time that Nivea became another member of my makeup draw!

The price of the 50ml pot that I purchased from Boots was £1.49

The cream is really thick and I thought at first it made my hands and face look a little greasy but I think it was just where it was soaking into the skin. It doesn’t really have a smell to it either which is great as some people have sensitive skin and have to use un fragranced products.

So, the main thing is , Did it moisturize my hands well? YES. My hands went from red raw to soft as a babies bottom ! I saw an instant result which is what I love and I’m still seeing the result now.

Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes. It is perfect for dry, red, sore skin and will definitely help with dry/flaky skin too. I rate this 5/5 as I found no faults in the product and was really impressed by this moisturizer.

Collection 2000 Smokey Eye Palette Review

Hey everyone!

Today’s post is a review on the Collection 2000 smokey eye palette. I’ve got one of the Collection palettes already and really love it, so when I saw this palette in Superdrug, along with a 3 for 2 offer I couldn’t resist!

The Smokey eye palette, is as it says. A smokey eye palette. It’s great for creating that perfect smokey eye with the selection of colours provided. From lights to darks it’s a great guideline! I love that the eye shadows are well pigmented and have minimal fallouts. I will admit I noticed a few specs from the glittery shadows but nothing too bad!

They lasted over 8 hours on my eyelids with no primer so I was really impressed by this. The shadows are blendable too so it is easy to create that smokey effect.

The packaging is simple and sweet. On the back of the palette theres a guideline on creating that perfect smokey eye which I think is great if you are a beginner! The eyeshadows are set out perfectly too so you don’t need to spend ages looking around the palette thinking which colours you should use because they’re already there waiting for you!

The palette consists of 9 shadows. There are 3 darks, 3 mediums and two lights and one cream. I’ll be honest. The cream shadow is a pointless part of the palette because It’s not very well pigmented and doesn’t appeal to me at all. The dark shadows are very well pigmented and have a great matte look to them too. The mediums are well pigmented too and have a lovely shimmer to them. And the lights aren’t as pigmented but still work as great highlighters!

FIRST LINE OF SHADOWS

(grey,black,white)

SECOND ROW

(glittery brown, brown, pink)

THIRD ROW

(silver and brown)

I would rate this palette 5/5 as the shadows are well pigmented and theres a good selection of colours.

The price of this is £4.19

Urban Decay Eye shadow – Shattered Review [GUEST POST]

I’ve tried a few things from Urban Decay and had a bit of a hit and miss experience so when I browsing their collection I thought I’d try one of the eyeshadows as they seem to be a hit. I chose one in the colour ‘Shattered’ , lord knows why, its not very flattering once on.
In the little pot it looks great, a green-ish blue with slight shimmer to it, and when swatched it still looks amazing. Its when it went on my eyes that I was dissapointed. It was either layer on lightly and get just a hint of colour or put layers of it on and look like I had a black eye. I went with the simple wash of colour.
On my brow bone and tearduct I applied a light cream eyeshadow from a Collection 2000 trio and blended it out. The Urban Decay was very silky to apply and did feel really soft and easy to pick up on my brush when it came to applying it. i hate having to scrub around eyeshadow to try and pick it up.
After came a thin line of liquid eyeline and No7 Extreme Length mascara. For the rest of the face I wanted to keep it quiet simple as most of my blushers and bronzers would have clashed really badly with the eyeshadow, so just a quick peachy blusher on my cheeks.
I think these eyeshadows could be really nice if you choose the right shade, so I would like to try it again just not in ‘Shattered’.
Urban Decay is available from their website and from House of Fraser, ‘Shattered’ was £14.
