Apocalips Galaxy Review

Apocalips were released earlier on this year and despite the huge hype for them I am not overly thrilled with this any more. I too was one of the many people waiting for these to be released by Rimmel, and I too was also one of the one’s raving and chatting about them non stop. I had read a lot of reviews prior to purchasing, reading lots of bloggers posts that had received these ahead of the release date so I knew exactly which one I wanted! When they were released I visited my local Superdrug as soon as I could and bought one of the Apocalips in the shade Galaxy.

There are 8 colours that you can purchase. There is a range of reds, pinks and nude colours to choose from.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

My opinion of these prior to purchasing was good, as like many others probably do, If I hear that they are good, I assume that they are good. My impressions when looking, feeling and trying for the first time were a little underwhelmed. I will be honest – I was disappointed in the gloss wand and the glosses consistency too. I took one look at the product and thought “this looks way too thick and pigmented” I was right

APPLICATION

Despite me looking at the wand and being disappointed I found that it ended up applying the product onto my lips really well. I like the shape of the wand , It’s in the shape of a tear drop which allows easy application to the cupids bow of your lip. It distributed the product evenly too

PIGMENT/CONSISTENCY

Okay, this is what disappointed me most. I hate the consistency and pigment of this lip lacquer It’s too thick! When I was reading reviews on other blogs they must have only used a grain of salt size amount to achieve the looks that they did because the second I applied what I thought was a small amount, ended up coating my lips in what felt like a paste! Yuck!

The pigment in the gloss is very, very strong. You literally only need the tiniest…And I do mean TINIEST amount of product to achieve a good look on your lips. I had to wipe a lot of the product off of the wand before applying because it picks up way too much product

LASTING WEAR

So, how long does it last? I found that most of the product had wiped off after about 30 minutes of wearing. However – It did stain my lips and left a nice colour on them for around 4 hours which was good. I’m the sort of person that wants a lip product that will last all day because I just hate re applying ! 4 hours is okay but I am at college and work for 8 hours so a product that lasts this long will be in my good books forevermore !

PRICE/WHERE TO BUY

You can purchase these in Superdrug, Boots and online for £5.99

OVERALL

Overall I am utterly disappointed in this product. I really thought that these were going to be one of my all time favorite products but it has become my all time disappointment product. The only thing I like about this is the packaging and the stain it leaves on your lips. But as for the product itself I don’t like it

Everyone is different – Some like this, some don’t. But if you are looking into purchasing one of these please read both good AND bad reviews as I wish I did !

Thanks for reading

Tropic Pure Plant Skin Care – Lip Love Balm Review

Tropic Pure Plant Skin care is an all natural company that uses pure and natural ingredients in their products. They thrive in being an honest, pure and effective company giving all customers 100% satisfaction.

What I like about Tropic Pure Plant Skin Care is their dedication to providing cruelty free, natural products. I love that they are honest about what they are using in the ingredients and giving their customers a full insight into what they provide.

I received their Lip Love Balm and below is my review

LIP LOVE BALM

The Lip Love Balm is a nourishing lip balm with jojoba, Shea and cocoa butter extracts inside. Not only is this a lip balm, but you can use this on your nails, cuticles, elbows and heels. This will help with dry, cracked lips and skin.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

My first impressions on the Lip Love Balm were great. I love the little tub the balm comes in. It’s very simple but well made and secure! The container gives you clear details of the ingredients which I like too.

SMELL/APPEARENCE

The smell of the lip balm is so refreshing. It reminds me of oranges and peppermint. The balm is a thick consistency which applies really well onto the lips. The more product you use, I found was more like a lip scrub, however once applied to the lips the bead particles disappeared and it turned into a balm. The balm is a rich orange colour but is clear once applied.

PERFORMANCE

This really did moisturize my lips. I found after using this for 2 days I began noticing a big difference in the condition of my lips. In the winter I suffer from dry cracked lips unfortunately but this has been brilliant. It removed the cracked skin and moisturized really well.

PRICE/WHERE TO BUY

You can purchase  this lip balm on the Tropic Pure Plant Skin Care website HERE for £5.00. I would say this is a little pricey for a small lip balm however you are getting a 100% natural product which is cruelty free.

You can view the rest of their Skin Care range HERE

OVERALL

Overall I am pleased with this product. I love that it moisturizes my lips and leaves them looking healthy and feeling soft. I have nothing bad to say about this product. It is true to it’s word and I will definitely be buying another one when I run out!

Ideal Cases – Iphone Case !

Hey Everyone!

Today is a review on an iPhone case that I created on Idealcases.co.uk – Some of you are probably thinking “What does a phone case have anything to do with beauty and fashion?” good question – here’s my answer :

Phone cases have EVERYTHING to do with fashion. Phone cases have become an accessory. Many use various phone cases to match their outfit of the day or their other accessories. It’s a great way at subtly expressing yourself.

I was asked by Idealcases.co.uk if I wanted to created a phone case – So I decided that I wanted to as 1. My phone case was beginning to really annoy me , and 2. I’ve never designed my own case before so why not!

This is my case that I designed -

I decided to create this design because I wanted something that was unique, bright, and meaningful. I found this quote – “Beauty is not in the face, Beauty is a light in the heart”. I loved this quote because it reminds me to just be myself and not create a person that I am not. I went with the masked design too because it ties in with the quote well by covering the face.

This case is £12.99 – The shipping is so fast too which is great.

Ideal Cases  allow you to design for you iPhone 3g/s, 4 and 5. Your blackberry, HTC, Samsung, Kindle, iPad and so much more! There are loads of designs and patterns/styles  to create your phone case !

www.idealcases.co.uk

So if you want to create your case then go do so ! I have a 40% off code which is exclusive to BeginnersBeauty.com readers only!

BeginnersB40

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy creating your cases!

*disclaimer – I was approached by idealcases to create a case then share with you. I received  the case for free in return for a review and a code for you guys. I take part in these sort of campaigns because they are different and this year I am aiming to expand my audience*

Shopping The Streets Around The World

Hey Everyone!

A couple of weeks ago I was approached by TravelSupermarket.com to collaborate with them by creating a ‘Shopping the streets around the world’ infographic. The idea behind this is that a few beauty and fashion bloggers are asked where their favorite place in the world is to shop, OR where in the world they would most like to shop. This was done by the lovely Scarlett over at ScarlettLondon.com where she was asked where she would like to shop and where her favorite place was to shop around the world. We were then asked to pick one place from her list and write a little bit about it – So here is my infographic!

I chose New York as I have never been and always wanted to go – I would love to check out all their amazing shops! Fifth Avenue appeals to me most because it reminds me of London but I want to see how the Americans do it! haha.

I’ve been to Orlando in Florida and so I’ve seen a few of their big department stores like JC Penneys and Macy’s and Bloomingdales, but I want to see the New York stores – The massive stores!

I hope that one day I can pluck the courage up to jump on that plane and go to New York!

Thanks for reading!
