The Music Tag!

So earlier on today I was tagged by the lovely Shona to do the MUSIC TAG. I love doing tags so Here’s my take on it!
What’s your favorite type of music?
I like anything catchy – I like anything from Michael Buble to Nicki Minaj…I’m flexible lol
What’s your least favorite type of music?

I hate screamo music – If you like screamo music , that’s fine! I don’t object to people listening to it at all. I just don’t like it…I like to listen to music not screaming…If I wanted to listen to screaming people I would walk into a childs playground and listen to all the kids screaming!
What’s the best gig you’ve been to?

I’ve never been to one unfortunately – I really want to go to the iTunes festival or the V-Festival though! It’s on my “To Do” list haha
What albums are you listening to at the moment?
I love Olly Murs at the moment. I never used to like him that much but I love his songs, his lyrics and his style. It’s catchy!
What’s your favourite bands/artists & favourite album?

I can’t really say what I like because I have too many! My favorite artists are Michael Buble, Paramore, Nicki Minaj, Adele, Olly Murs, Will.I.Am, Jessie J, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, FUN, Muse and many…many more!
If you could instantly know how to play any instrument, what would it be?

Piano, drums and guitar. I like all three instruments and I suck at playing all of them ! aha
111music
So this is my Music Tag! If you have a blog – I  tag you to do this too!

Ice Skating – New Years Resolution !

Hey Everyone!

Today’s post isn’t really beauty or fashion related but more lifestyle related. If you follow me on Twitter you will know that I have recently been taking ice skating lessons! One of my New Years Resolutions was to try something different. So I signed up to beginners adult ice skating lessons!

I am really enjoying learning to skate. Despite it being hard and a bit painful at times, it is really fun and It’s a great form of exercise! I’d only been skating 1 or 2 times with some friends and I’d really enjoyed it. They had even said that when I got on the ice I was a natural because I stepped on and zoomed off on my blades!

I had my 3rd lesson on Monday and I’m really progressing which I’m pleased with!

In lesson 1 we were just learning how to find out feet and balance correctly on the skates. They are not easy to walk in when off the ice I can tell you now! Imagine wearing the worlds most uncomfortable pair of high heels! The second I stepped on the ice I felt like Bambi. But after a few glides up and down the ice I found my feet and balance.

In lesson 2 we were learning how to glide on the skates. Gliding is when you push off from either your left or right foot then bring the other foot in the air. It’s complicated to explain but it’s basically gliding on one foot with  the other foot raised off the floor slightly. We also started learning how to go backwards. It looks so easy when you see it on Dancing On Ice but it is so hard!!!! To go backwards we had to turn our toes inwards and push our ankles outwards then lift one foot at a time. By doing this you begin to glide backwards. But of course it’s not as easy as that as your body’s natural reaction to going backwards is to jerk forwards! I’ll get it eventually! I hope!

In lesson 3 we began learning to stop ourselves. Usually I would just smack into the barrier to stop myself or just wait until I slowed down but now thankfully I know how to stop! To stop we had to do the “snowplough” with our feet. If you go Skiing you’ll know what this is. I found it easy because I’d been skiing before thankfully haha. Basically to stop we had to slowly push our ankles out with toes turned in. It’s difficult to explain in writing haha.

Next week will be my 4th lesson. In total there are 6 lessons which I’m doing. I really want to go onto the next level after this because it’s so fun and a great way to get fit. I can definitely feel the burn in my thighs after 30 mins!

I hope you enjoyed this post. I thought I would tell you about this because not everyone can find the motivation or inspiration to start something new and stick with it so I hope that I can inspire someone to try something different!

Leave me a comment or a tweet telling me how you’re getting on with your new years resolutions!

Thanks for reading!

My Top 5 Winter Must Haves!

Hey everyone!

Todays post is my top 5 winter must have items! Here in the UK it is definitely getting colder and I am beginning to crack out my winter warmers and woolies! I for one hate going out in the cold, thinking I’ve wrapped up warm when the fact is I actually haven’t. I’m the sort of person that hates wearing a coat. I do. I absolutely hate wearing them. Why? When you’re shopping and you’re in and out of different shops it’s like your body temperature is having a fit! Walk into the store – too hot, take off all the layers. Walk out of the store – freezing cold, on the layers go. And so forth!

Over the last few months I’ve been trying to find some items that are easily portable and can be slipped on and off with ease and just in general my “must have” items!

No.1 – Knitted Headbands

I discovered these a few months back when I was searching the shops for a hat that wouldn’t make my hair go frizzy and crazy. I dived into New Look and found these knitted headbands. At first I was a bit hesitant to try these out because at the end of the day, it’s only covering a small part of your head, and as we all know, heat escapes out of your head  so what use could these be right?

These are amazing. You’d be really surprised at how warm these keep your head. I tie my hair up quite a lot, so wearing a hat can be a bit difficult. These are perfect at keeping the wind and chill off of your ears and they really keep your head toasty! They’re a great accessory that keep you warm too!

No.2 – Fingerless Gloves

Another one of my must haves! I never used to like fingerless gloves because I couldn’t see how these were going to be useful. Gloves are supposed to keep you warm so why shop the ends of the fingers off right? Some fingerless gloves come with detachable mittens on them, these are perfect if you are on the go and need to use things such as your touch screen phone or to apply your makeup or flick through paperwork/books etc etc.

No.3 – Snoods

Snoods are perfect because it has more than one use. Snoods can be used as a scarf, hat, hood, scarf&hoot, and if they’re big enough, another layer over your t shirt! These are inexpensive and great money savers because of their multi usage purposes. A winter must have!

No.4 – Hand Warmers

Hand warmers. These are my little life savers when I can’t find my gloves. Snap the silver coin inside the pouch and voila…instant heat. Some can last up to 3 hours, some can last 3 minutes. It depends on the quality of them. These fit nicely into your pocket and keep your hands nice and toasty in the colder months! You can pick these up pretty much anywhere now for under a fiver!

No.5 – Toe Socks

I love my toe socks. They’re not everyone’s favorite winter warmer but I absolutely adore them. Toe socks are basically gloves for your feet. Most of them come up to the knee so they are twice as warm as normal socks. They’re fun too and make great presents! I picked up a pair in Poundland and I love them. They’re warm, cosy and fun!

So these are my top 5 winter must haves! I might do a top 5 winter beauty must haves – leave me a comment if you would like to see this! Leave me another comment with your winter must have!
